Curtis is the Enterprise GIS Manager for City of Phoenix, the fifth-most populous city in the United States. It is also the state capital and largest city in the state at 517.9 square miles. Our metropolitan area is the 11th largest by population in the United States, with approximately 4.85 million people – a figure larger than 25 State populations. The City of Phoenix conducts it's business through some 50 different Departments and Programs, with a workforce of more than 14,000 employees. Most of these operations, many of our employees, and several citizen services are reliant on GIS.
Curtis was nominated by URISA and appointed as a Local Government Representative/Member of the National Geospatial Advisory Committee in 2023. The National Geospatial Advisory Committee (NGAC) is a Federal Advisory Committee sponsored by the Department of the Interior under the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The NGAC reports to the Chair of the Federal Geographic Data Committee (Secretary of the Interior or designee).
